Park history and tour options

The Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve, created in 1963, is recognized as the first protected area of Costa Rica. Here we have the opportunity to show you the magic of its forest, the important history that surrounds it, as well as the great impact it had on the Costa Rican economy and conservation.

This tour is perfect for nature lovers. During this enriching tour you will have a local guide specialized in nature and history.

You will begin the day discovering the wonders of this tropical forest in transition, perfect for watching birds, mammals, reptiles, as well as giant and native trees.

This tour is only available from Wednesday to Sunday due to park policies.To enjoy all the wonders of Cabo Blanco we have two options:

Option 1: Cabo Blanco Morning Hike

This walk will take about 2 hours and 30 minutes through the tropical forest, where you will be able to observe a number of species of flora and fauna, know its history, and with the help of our guide you will understand the relationships and complicity of this important ecosystem.

Option 2: Cabo Blanco Beach & Jungle Full Day Tour

This option is perfect for those who love nature and relaxation.
This activity combines a hike of about 2 Horus (each way), where our guide will show you the wonders of this forest until you reach Cabo Blanco beach, a paradisiac white sandy beach where you can enjoy quiet waters for swimming, sunbathing, or simply to enjoy the striking view of Cabo Blanco Island.

From Tambor: 7:00 am (50 minutes)
From Montezuma: 7:30 am (25 minutes)
