Blue Zone Experience

Explore one of the five Blue Zones on earth

Blue Zones are regions of the world where, it is claimed, people live much longer than averager. It is a non-scientific term given to geographic regions that are home to some of the world’s oldest people.

Only Five places, in particular, fall into this category on earth, and the Nicoya Peninsula is on top of the list.

But, what is the secret?

Let us show you all the details in our enriching farm tour, designed to share our culture and traditions, considered the keys of this prestigious Blue Zone award.

Work on the farm, try healthy, delicious, traditional food and get to know the non-stress lifestyle. This is the main itinerary during our tour.

This educational tour takes place in La Mencha, which is a farming town located approximately 45 minutes from Santa Teresa / Montezuma or Tambor.

Get to meet an authentic Costa Rican family and go deep into their  “Tico” lifestyle.

In this cultural immersion you’ll become a member of the family and farming team. Learn all about the sugar extraction process through the  “trapiche”, one of the most rooted  agricultural activities. Milking cows or picking eggs right from the field, taste an authentic Costa Rican typical breakfast or lunch and much more.
